Nursery 2017-2018

Welcome to Nursery!

I cannot believe we are now in the final term of the year. It is lovely to see how much Nursery children have grown and matured!

Our topic is "Growing Things." We have planted beans and watched them grow, we even wrote a bean diary using pictures, marks and letters. The children all really enjoyed talk for writing and they retold the story of Jack and the Beanstalk with actions. We then wrote our own stories.

We talked about farm animals and listened to the story of "Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza." We then made our own pizzas. We kneaded the dough and rolled it out. The children chose their own toppings. The best part was eating them!

Outdoor Learning

We have really enjoyed the sun shining at last! All of our Nursery children are very keen to learn outdoors. They have challenged themselves making dens and obstacle courses with crates, planks, tents, materials and lots of other resources. They have made all sorts of dens, we have even had a circus! The mud kitchen is always popular and there has been some wonderful cooperative play creating cakes, pies and much more... The children have communicated with each other and planned what they wanted to create.
