It has been lovely to welcome lots of new children into our Nursery class. They have all settled very well and are very happy exploring indoors and outdoors. Thank you to all our parents for your patience during the induction period.
We were very proud of all our Nursery children taking part in our Christmas concert. The children all performed on the school stage with Reception and Key Stage One. We were great dancers and singers!
Our Spring theme is "Make it!" We have really enjoyed making smoothies, milk shakes, sandwiches and we even baked our own bread. We worked in small groups with an adult and enjoyed drinking and eating the things we made.
Nursery loved the story Supertato and were amazed when the evil peas invaded our classroom! The children found a trail of peas around the room and different vegetables were found injured in different places. This led to great excitement and the children were motivated to write all about the evil peas and Supertato. The children made their own Superveggies and created their own Super powers. The one story led to a variety of fun and exciting cross-curricular experiences.
We have had lots of fun together this year and I cannot believe it is the end of the year. Nursery have been visiting their new Reception classes and are ready for school now. We have had an action packed half term with Saving Our Planet Week, Sport's Day and a great day out at Reddish Vale Farm.
Good luck Nursery in your new classes in September!
