This term we are learning all about plants and growth. Last week, we planted some potatoes, cress and cucumbers. We are looking forward to watching them grow (hopefully!). We then wrote our own set of instructions for how to plant a potato seed.

We had a great time learning all about pirates. We learnt about their ships, what they ate and drank, the jobs they did on board the ship and we looked at some famous pirates.

Have a look at some of the pictures from our trip.

Fun in the snow!

Autumn 2 - Who would live in a house like this?

This term we are looking at different types of houses. We are looking at homes from the past and around the world. The text that we will be focusing on is the The Three Little Pigs.

Autumn walk, building yard role play, daily mile

We had a great time at Staircase House. We loved helping Mistress Catherine with her jobs, we made wattle and daub and a pomander ball. We also made puppets and took part in a shadow puppet show. Take a look at some of the pictures.

Autumn 1 - What is a hero?

We are enjoying getting to know our new classroom and the challenges Year 1 has to offer.

This term our topic is 'What is a hero?'

We will be looking at ourselves, the human body, Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and our locality.

Here are a few pictures of our first couple of weeks in Year 1. We had lots of fun during our Playpod session and have enjoyed exploring the library and working with more independence.
