Latest News .....

Many of Year 6 have taken part in business club this year and we have had great fun with 'The Jar Bar'. A couple of weeks ago, we attended a Young Entrepreneur event at the Town Hall in Stockport. It was great fun. Sadly, we didn't win but we had a great time competing and we made a lot of money over the year to buy new playground equipment and for our chosen charity, Epilepsy Action Research.

We celebrated our hard work by turning the Year 6 classroom into a pizzeria after school and we enjoyed dough balls, pizza and ice-cream. It was lovely socialising together after our hard work all year.

We have just returned from the best adventure ever! We had a fabulous time on our residential and Mrs W was so proud of the way we represented ourselves and Ladybrook. Here are just a few photographs!

Algebra... Emotions ... Murder Mysteries

We have been challenging ourselves by using our skills in algebra to crack a secret codes fiendishly devised by Mrs W and Mrs R! Who knew algebra could be used in so many ways?

We played a board game which involved expressing and sharing our emotions with each other. Some of us found this easy, some of us were challenged by the discussion.

We went out into our local community to solve a murder mystery from the 1800s! We had to follow clues and maps to find out where old photographs had been taken. In each place there was a mystery to solve and questions to answer. We also tried to recreate the photographs. When we returned to the classroom, the answers to the questions allowed us to eliminate suspects from the inquiry. We were able to identify the murderer!

Can you see the one of the oldest cottages in Bramhall? The water pump that served the whole village at the time is still there!

A special message to you after SATs...

We are so proud of you this week. We have seen you stay focussed during this SAT week. You have tried your hardest and kept a positive 'can do' attitude - well done! Now, we need to continue our learning as we have an action packed second half term... exploring our place in the local area as we explore who we are, where we've been and where we are going! We have our residential to push our boundaries of adventure and courage. We mustn't forget, we need to write and perform our leavers' assembly! We had better get going!
