Here is our welcome meeting PPT
Spring
We have enjoyed starting our Angry Planet topic.
We have started to find out about natural disasters in Europe. We have loved making exploding booklets all about Europe.
In science, we have started to learn about states of matter and have carried out enquiries to explore changes of state.
In literacy, we have written persuasive letters and we are starting to read and explore poems. This half-term we have also enjoyed gymnastics, coding in computing and hockey.
We always love reading with our Y1 buddies.
ART
Our art this half term has been based on still life and we have started to create clay fruit tiles.
First we looked at still life art work (modern and traditional). Then we made observational drawings of fruit. Next we planned our fruit tiles on paper squares and we copied these designs onto tiles. Have a look - we think they look amazing.
They will be bisque fired then painted using coloured slip. Finally, they will have a second firing. We can't wait to see how they turn out!
Schools Linking
We love our schools linking project! This term we have been thinking about how we can live well together. We have thought about the importance of kindness and of helping others. Small actions can make a big difference. We are planning to carry out some social action in the local area.
Autumn 2
Ancient Greek Day
We have had a fantastic Ancient Greek workshop today with lots of hands-on learning. Take a look at some of our photos...
Wildflower planting
We had a brilliant morning planting wildflower plugs in the Ladybrook Valley meadow.
The children were all enthusiastic, excited and very well behaved! We planted around 300 plants! It will be lovely to go and visit the area in the spring or summer to see how much they have grown and how much wildlife they are encouraging. What a great example of helping in the community and social action. Well done Year 4 :-) We are very proud of you all!
year-4-2025-2026
Autumn 1
We have been learning about sound in science. Here we were exploring pitch using percussion instruments.
year-4-2025-2026
In art we are exploring storytelling through art. We are planning our own comic strip poems. They are looking fantastic so far!
year-4-2025-2026
We have been working on place value in maths. We have enjoyed playing dice games to help our understanding and extend our learning.
