Reception

Spring

We have dug for dinosaur bones and met a baby dinosaur. We enjoyed our first forest school session where we hunted for dinosaurs and made dinosaur dens. We have made pizzas and had an orchestra in to tell the story of the Gingerbread Man.

Autumn 1

What a great first half term we have had! We have been up to lots of fun and exciting things. One day we found a crime scene in our classroom. From the clues that we found, we decided it must have been the Big Bad Wolf! We made wanted posters to try and find him. We then learnt the story of The Three Little Pigs using actions and we wrote our own versions of the story. We had lots of fun retelling the story using puppets and building new houses for the pigs! We also sang beautifully in the Harvest assembly, got changed for P.E and did yoga in the hall and we took part in our sponsored keep fit by running/walking 1 mile on our running track!! How amazing are we!!! We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures of our first half term.

We have had a lovely few weeks settling into Reception and making lots of new friends. Have a look at some of the things we have been up to.

Welcome to Reception

Here is some useful information about the year ahead:

  • The children will read to an adult on a Monday or Tuesday and they will come home with two books for the week. Please leave the home/school diaries in book bags every day and sign to say you have listened to them read.
  • PE is on a Thursday. Please make sure their kit is in their locker all week with some spare clothes inside (for any toilet accidents) and everything is clearly labelled.
  • All children should have wellies in school, if you have not done this please bring them in ASAP.
  • All children need a waterproof coat with a hood as we go out in all weathers.
