Sports Day 2022

Chill Factore visit

Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous day at the Chill Factore. Linked to our Antarctica topic, we experienced the freezing cold so do a range of activities. We whizzed down the snow on sledges, spun down the slopes on donuts and flew down the slide. Absolutely fantastic!

We also used the climbing wall to challenge ourselves - both physically and mentally - could we overcome our nerves and climb to the top? Have a look at the photographs to see what we did.

The Snow Park photos

The climbing wall photos

This week we welcomed Andy from the Stockport Road Safety team. The children used local roads to find out about road awareness, safe and dangerous places to cross, the importance of standing back from the kerb, the kind of traffic that is on the roads and the importance of stop, look, listen, think and cross.

The children listened very carefully to these important messages and all successfully used their road safety awareness knowledge to independently cross the road - under careful supervision!

Have a look at the photos and ask your child what they learnt.

This week we performed our Christmas play, Whoopsie Daisy Angel.

Here's a sneak peak of the show - we hope you enjoy the DVD!

Visit to Bramhall Park

As part of our geography, we have been looking at maps and how to follow a route. We used a map of our local area and followed the route from school to the park. We stopped to look at street names and areas of interest.

Whilst we were there, the children spent time sketching Bramall Hall. We have been finding out about Tudor buildings as part of our Great Fire of London topic.

In literacy, we are currently reading the book ‘Katie in London’. The children have been planning their own story set in Bramhall park. Whilst we were there, the children thought about their setting thinking about what they can see, hear, smell and touch.

Reading buddies

This half term we have teamed up with Year 5 to share books with. The Year 5 children listen to us read and ask us lots of questions about the story.
