How are Ladybrook’s resources allocated and matched to children’s special educational needs?
• The SEND budget is allocated each financial year. The money is used to allocate support and resources depending on the needs of individuals.
• Some of this budget is allocated to specific individuals as determined by the LA.
• Other aspects of support funded by the SEND budget and additional funds from school are:
- Teaching assistant support for children with a support plan
- Release time for the SENDCo to work on a literacy intervention programme for years two, three and four. This allows for small group work with the class teacher and/or the SENDCo.
- Release time for a teacher to deliver Additional Maths Programmes across the whole school as needed, alongside a teaching assistant.
- Provision of a teacher and a teaching assistant to deliver a mathematics support programme throughout the whole school.
- Teaching assistant to deliver Early Literacy Support in year one, alongside the class teacher. - Teaching assistant to deliver phonics support in year one and two, alongside the class teacher.
- Year 5 and 6 booster sessions for mathematics. - Provision of ‘Dancing Bears’ – a programme of support for children with dyslexia.
- Provision of ‘Teddy Gym’ – a gross and fine motor skills development programme for foundation stage children.
- Provision of Motor Skills United – an occupational therapy programme for key stage one and two.
- Speech and Language Programmes for specific children as required.
- Numeracy support - Plus One and Power of Two
- Teoderescue Handwriting support
