Lunch Menu

Autumn / Winter 2025-26

All children are able to have a hot school meal. Ladybrook has its own kitchen and meals are freshly cooked on the premises each day.

In September 2014 Universal Infant Free School Meals were introduced by the Government. This means that if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 they are entitled to a free lunch every day.

Children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 can also have a school meal but these are paid for by parents.

The school meals are currently provided by 'Totally Local' and the menu is available on our web site so that parents can help their child to pre-order their meal.

Children may also bring a packed lunch to school each day.  If this is your preference, we do ask that the packed lunch is a healthy one and does not contain sweets or fizzy drinks.

If your child chooses to have a jacket potato, this comes with various fillings (cheese, tuna, beans) along with a choice of vegetable and/or salad items.

Additional Notes on School Dinner Bookings

Cost:

School dinners are free to KS1 children (Rec - Y2), but are charged for if your child is in KS2 (Years 3 - 6).

Bookings:

You must ensure all meals are booked in via your child’s Parentpay account before the end of every Thursday.  Can I suggest for ease that if you have an infant child you book ahead for every available day.  I appreciate for juniors this would amount to a lot of money but would ask that you book ahead as far as you can as this reduces the risk of forgetting – I know how busy you all are and it’s just another job to add to your list!

What happens if I forget to book?:

We hold a master list of all the children currently on school dinners.  Therefore, if you forget to book your child a meal, they will be provided with a jacket potato (choice of fillings), salad and pudding.  As our catering company order according to our numbers, we will not be able to provide your child with a different option.

What happens if I don’t keep my account in credit?:

You must check that your account is in credit at all times.  If the account goes into debt then Parentpay will cancel your child’s meal without notification.  This will be picked up by us and they will be given the jacket potato option as referred to above.  You will receive a reminder that your account is now in debt and a request that this is settled immediately.  If you account is not in credit within a week, your child will be removed from the school dinner master list and you will need to provide a packed lunch.

Can I change from school dinners to packed lunch?:

Yes and vice versa, but we request a 2 week notice period please and the office staff must be informed of any changes by an adult (not the child).

If you do not inform us and your child is currently on school dinners wishing to transfer to packed lunches then a meal will still be provided for them and charged for (KS2) until we hear from you.
