Monday 6th July 2020 Reading/Art: The Ickabog Chapter 12- Once you have read this chapter, it is time to get creative! Imagine JK Rowling was turning this book into a picture book - create the image that would go with this chapter. There is so much lovely description in it to help you create a dramatic image - you may use any resources that you want to … felt tips, pastels, paints, collage … create art to be proud of that could be published in a picture book alongside the story. You will have a session on this tomorrow as well so you don’t need to rush it. Literacy: Everybody - home or school - needs to work on their biography this week. Each day I will ask you to do a certain aspect of it. Because we are breaking it down into manageable chunks, I expect each aspect to be carefully and accurately written! Today’s task - complete the planning sheet in Google Classroom Maths: Mathletics - new challenges will be set each day whether you are at home or school so keep up with the daily task. If you get stuck at home, use the help section. Aim for at least 80% - repeat the task if you get less but only after using the help section to watch the virtual teacher modelling the task. Topic: We will be starting to think about the final aspect of MRS NERG - do you remember that acronym? Each letter reminds us of something that makes living things living things. M - movement ( we have looked at skeletons and muscles) R - reproduction (you will be talking with your grown ups about this over the coming weeks) S - sensitivity (thesenses - you have done lots of work on senses during your time at Ladybrook) N - nutrition E - excretion ( we looked at the digestive system and excretion a few weeks ago) R - respiration (we looked at the heart and how oxygen travels around our body to help us make energy) G - growth ( you have looked at life cycles) The last one we need to look at is Nutrition - head on over to Google Classroom for your task. Tuesday 7th July 2020 Reading/ Art: Finish your art from yesterday based on Chapter 12. Take a photograph of it and then upload it onto the post in Google Classroom. Once you have done this, read and enjoy The Ickabog chapter 13 … Lord Spittleworth shows a really devious, unpleasant, dishonest side to his character in this chapter! Literacy: Biography Task 2 - Visit Google Classroom for the Google Doc that you need to start writing. Today, I would like you to write your introduction. Remember the examples we looked at are in last week's Google Classroom if you need to look back for a reminder. When you have read this chapter, write a paragraph in your blue book predicting what you think Spittleworth is up to - why do you think he is spreading fear? Friday 10th July Reading: The Ickabog - chapter 17 and 18 A dreadful crime is committed in chapter 18 to help Spittleworth with his devious plan! Literacy: Biography Task - Visit Google Drive (nine dots, top corner) to continue on the document. Today, I would like you to concentrate on the next two paragraphs - choose the final one of the three things the adult wanted you to include in the biography (you should have written about two of them yesterday). You also need to write your conclusion today. Decide on your own sub-headings. We will be editing and improving these in school next week so make sure they are in your drive.
