Reddish Vale Farm
Reception enjoyed their trip to Reddish Vale Farm. We stroked and fed the sheep, goats, alpacas, donkeys, cows and the horse. We held the guinea pigs, baby rabbits, chicks and ducklings and enjoyed playing in the play area on the bouncy pillow.
Sports Day
Reception enjoyed Sports Day and all had a fantastic time. The children really enjoyed our egg and spoon race and the obstacle course.
Summer 1
We have been very busy this half term. We have been reading 'Supertato' and 'Superworm'. We have grown our own sunflowers and planted strawberries and flowers in our Outdoor Area. We also enjoyed when our grown ups came to visit us in school for our 'Stay and Plays'.
Spring
We have dug for dinosaur bones and met a baby dinosaur. We enjoyed our first forest school session where we hunted for dinosaurs and made dinosaur dens. We have made pizzas and had an orchestra in to tell the story of 'The Gingerbread Man'.
Autumn 2
Harvest, Diwali, Remembrance Day, Children in Need, Stickman and Christmas
Autumn 1
What a great first half term we have had! We have been up to lots of fun and exciting things. One day we found a crime scene in our classroom. From the clues that we found, we decided it must have been the Big Bad Wolf! We made wanted posters to try and find him. We then learnt the story of The Three Little Pigs using actions and we wrote our own versions of the story. We had lots of fun retelling the story using puppets and building new houses for the pigs! We also sang beautifully in the Harvest assembly, got changed for P.E and did yoga in the hall and we took part in our sponsored keep fit by running/walking 1 mile on our running track!! How amazing are we!!! We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures of our first half term.
We have had a lovely few weeks settling into Reception and making lots of new friends. Have a look at some of the things we have been up to.
