School Council 2020-21

Congratulations to our new School Council members who all gave fantastic presentations to their classes and got voted onto our 2020-21 Council. Usually our Council is elected by the children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 every September.  It includes two children from Years 3 and 4 and three children from Years 5 and 6 who are also responsible for representing the children in the Infants and Reception. This year, due to Covid safety rules we have had to adapt the way that we have recruited and organise our Council. This year we have recruited three children from Year 5 and 6 only.

We meet every 2 – 3 weeks to share ideas, get feedback from classes and organise events. The Council is co-ordinated by Mrs Regan.

We aim to:

  • Increase Pupil Voice
  • Help lots of people
  • Represent the view of all pupils
  • Raise funds for different causes and charities
  • Listen to others to improve our school
  • Share ideas
  • Put good ideas into action

As a Council, we think about what positive differences we can make to school and other people’s lives. We ask children about how we can improve things around us to make school even better!

Unfortunately, during the lockdown School Council have been unable to meet and plan any activities (except Comic Relief Day). We all hope that we will be able to get things going again in the summer term.

Covid has affected our School Council activities this year - right up until the end of the year because we have all had to stay in class bubbles.

I am really proud of our Year 5 and 6 Councillors this year who have had a really positive approach to everything - they have had lots of great ideas that I hope we can introduce in future years. Thank you to Oliver, Mabel, Marley, Rebecca, Bill and Georgia and very well done!

Thank you so much to all our parents/ carers/ friends and family who were so generous in their sponsorship for our 'Spotty Day' and wonderful donations for 'Red Nose Day'!

Thank you especially to Bramhall Superheroes who helped to make our Harvest celebrations so spectacular and thank you to all our parents/ carers/ friends and family for the wonderful donations and fantastic superhero costumes!

LET'S HOPE THAT WE CAN GET BACK TO NORMAL IN SEPTEMBER AND THAT OUR WONDERFUL NEW COUNCILLORS WILL BE READY TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE!
