Week 5 Virtual Learning

Week 5- 

Here are some ongoing activities you could do this week, you choose using any of the links or ideas you may have however, here are some ideas:

  • Complete 2 pages of your CVC word book.

  • Have a go at doing some of the rhyming words, maybe just do one set?

  • Have a look at the website links  –

Thursday 7th May-

Hello everyone, I hope you are all happy and doing good listening at home. Make sure you are helping your grown ups and having lots of fun. As it is a Bank Holiday tomorrow we will not be setting any work or putting on the questionnaire. If you want to do some, please look in the extra activities above. There are lots for you to do. The questionnaire will be on today, please look out for it.

 

Here are today's tasks:

 

Reception-

Today can the adults write down the key words below on pieces of paper and cut them out. Please make two sets. Ask your child to read these to you from their green book. Now put the two sets of words on the table and ask your child to match them up and tell you what they say. Ask them to write them in their book without looking. If they can’t then let them have another look. Now write a sentence for each of these words. E.G. I go to the park

  • Please use your Mathletics login, have a look around and complete a game

  • Please share a story with an adult today, look for any tricky words, can you talk about the different characters and how they are feeling?

  •  Then go to Foundation stage, Literacy, Phonics, Scraps Phonics, Activities, Set 4 - Match the word to the picture

  • Please go onto You Tube and have a go at the video ‘Jump Start Jonny’.

  • Can you help make your lunch today?

Wednesday 6th May

Good Morning Cygnets and Ducklings.

I have put a new link under the website link as it is all the Julia Donaldson books that are on iplayer for free. The children at school watched Zog today. It was lovely to see them. We did our learning activities first and then played games this afternoon. I looked for Bob the bird today but he wasn't there. I hope he comes back next week as I wanted to take a picture to show you all. I have taken a photo of our school with all the rainbows. I will put it on here for you to see. 
 

Reception-

  • Can you write a card today. It can be for your friend, a family member or you could take it to a nursing home. Decorate the front and then have a go at writing something inside. Please use your alphabet card, key word sheet and don’t forget finger spaces. Try and sound out the words yourself

  • Follow this link and watch the video and slideshow on one less than. https://www.thenational.academy/reception/maths/finding-one-less-than-a-given-number-reception-wk1-4/ Google classroom has a one more and one less than activity that you can complete after this.

  • Please read a book today, if you have read your books, please go onto Oxford owl and choose a book at the same level (look on the back to see which level they are on)

  • Then go to Foundation stage, Literacy, Phonics, Scraps Phonics, Activities, Set 4 - Reading

  • Please use some playdough (see recipe in pack) to have a go at Dough Disco on You Tube and make some different things.

  • Do a jigsaw or puzzle you have at home.

Good morning lovely Ducklings and Cygnets, we hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine. We do miss you all, especially your smiles in the mornings. Be good today for your mums and dads, here are today's activities

Reception- 

  • Today is spellings day. Please can you test your child on last week’s spellings. If they get some wrong, please keep practising these as well as their new ones.Then adults please write down the key words below in your child’s green book. Ask your child to read these to you, you might need to help. Then get the children to write them down by copying them. Please practise these throughout the week.

Monday 4th May-

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend. Thank you for all your responses to our questionnaire. Please don't worry if your child loses concentration and motivation, just do what you can at home. If you read and share books, talking about what is happening in the story and do practical maths through play, your children will still be learning. We would like to pass a message on from Mrs Presswood. Please can you share Mrs Presswood's letter to the children with your child and click on the video link.

  • Please have a look at the picture on Google Classroom. Have a good think about this picture. Who might live inside? Would you like to live there? Would a giant be able to live in this house? Where do you think it might be?Can you write a few sentences or a story about this picture? Please use your alphabet card, key word sheet and don’t forget finger spaces. Try and sound out the words yourself (parents please don’t spell all the words for your children. Encourage them to hear the main sounds in the word E.g. Swimming- swmig, giraffe- jraf)
