Friday 1st May
Good morning everyone. I hope you have had a good week and the home learning has been okay. We would love to hear how you are all getting on, so please fill in the questionnaire on Google Classroom. Just to reassure you, we can all have our bad days, there was a bit of an atmosphere in the Griffiths household on Wednesday as I snapped at our boys to get on with their work and then had a bit of a rant about tidying their bedrooms. To make things worse, Mr Griffiths suggested (with the best intentions) that I should sit down, have a cup of tea and read my book! Anyway, I am back to my patient and happy self now and the boys have got on with their work without any reminders.

Good morning Cygnets and Duckling. We are missing you all so much and can't wait to get back to school to see all your smiley faces. We hope you are all OK and trying your very best at home. Please make sure you are doing some work for your Mummy and Daddy. Myself and Mrs Griffiths can't wait to hear all about what you have been doing and how well you have been doing your learning activities. Well done to all the Reception children completing the Mathletics games, we can see how well you are doing. Keep it up!

● If we were in school we would now be starting spellings. Once week will ask you to test your child with their spellings. You will ask them to read them to you and then they will write them in the back of their green book. They will have a week to learn to read and write them. We will set this twice a week but if you have extra time please practise them. Today can the adults write down the key words below in their child’s green book r on some paper. Ask your child to read these to you, you might need to help. Then get the children to write them down by copying them. (the key words start off easy as these are the words they learnt in September. As the weeks go on they will get harder.)

If your child knows these then ask your child to put them into a sentence. Then you could write 4 sentences with those words in and ask your child to read them.
● Please use your Mathletics login, have a look around and complete a game.
● Please share a story with an adult today, look for any tricky words, can you talk about the different characters and how they are feeling? Maybe go onto Oxford Owl and choose a story on there.
● Please log in to Espresso then go to Foundation stage, Literacy, Phonics, Scraps Phonics, Activities, Set 3- Match the word to the picture.
● Please have a go at Boogie Beebies on You Tube.
● Please practise two letters on your handwriting sheet, you might want to try some big letters first using chalk if you have any or water and a paint brush in your garden. The handwriting rhymes are on the Just Phonics cards if you have them.
● Can you build a den today?

● Have a look at the 'Numbers in different formats Power point' on Google classroom from last week or have a look at your number line in your file. Look where the numbers are, count to 10 and back again. Parents, please can you write numbers to 10 on paper and cut them out. Now see if your child can order them to 5? Maybe they can order to 10?
● Please have a go at Boogie Beebies on You Tube.

Monday 27th April-
Good morning everyone, I hope you had a lovely weekend and made the most of the lovely weather. It looks like we are in for some rain this week. I hope you can use some of these activities to keep you busy indoors. There are lots of lovely craft activities on the website above.
Here are today’s activities:
Reception Children
● Please pick a teddy/ toy and write a few sentences about it. If you can maybe have a go at writing a story? Please use your alphabet card, key word sheet and don’t forget finger spaces. Try and sound out the words yourself (parents please don’t spell all the words for your children. Encourage them to hear the main sounds in the word E.g. Swimming- swmig, giraffe- jraf)
● Please go onto Google classroom and look at the doubles and halving powerpoint. Then use your espresso login- go to Key stage 1 , Maths, Multiplication and Division, Videos and watch ‘Finding doubles and halves: Double Trouble’. Then using their number cards give them 1-5 and some objects e.g. cars, dolls, spoons, buttons etc. Then get them to double the objects. E.g. Give them number 1 and ask them to double it, they will get one object and then another (the same of both sides). Do this with numbers 1-5. Then go to Espresso, Foundation stage, Literacy, Phonics, Scraps Phonics, Activities, Set 3-Reading.
● Please read one of your books today
● Can you help make your lunch today?
