Week 10 Virtual Learning (22.6.20)

Monday 22nd June

Hello everyone and welcome to week 3 of the half term (week 10 of home learning!).  We didn't receive as many weekly questionnaires last week.  Thank you to those who filled them in, it's always lovely to hear from you and your feedback is really useful.  Most of you seem to have adapted really well to the new weekly timetables and we had some lovely feedback about the topic work too.  The topic work grid will run for the next 4 weeks.  You will notice that this week we have asked you to complete a science activity too so you may only choose to do one activity from the grid this week- that is fine.  If you need any reminders of how home learning is now organised please click on week 8 or 9.  If not, jump straight into week 10!

Have a lovely sunny (we hope) week!

Love, Mrs Poole and Mrs King

Learning Tasks

Monday 22nd June 2020

Reading- 20-30 minutes to yourself then summarise the key points in your blue book about the section you read today. Use this as a chance to practise interesting vocabulary, sentence structure and punctuation - transfer those skills!  Be clear. Ask an adult to check it and make sure they understand what has happened from your description.

Grammar/punctuation: Speech marks revision.  Watch the Espresso video then have a go at the quizzes and activity.

Maths: This week I would like you to continue to spend 30-40 minutes each day on maths.  You should continue to work on your addition and subtraction maths booklet from last week.  To keep your tables going, you should also go on TT Rock Stars, print off a times table speed sheet to complete (from Google Classroom) or play some times tables games (also posted in Google Classroom).

**If you are someone who spends part of the week in school and part of the week learning at home please make sure you know where you are up to in your booklet when you arrive at school and when you leave.**

Topic: Like last week, in Google Classroom find the file called ‘ongoing topic work- summer 2’.  From the grid choose one or two new activities to complete this week.

**If you are someone who spends part of the week in school and part of the week learning at home please choose one activity to work on at school and a separate activity to work on at home because unfortunately you are not able to take work back and forth at the moment.  Please discuss with whichever adult is in your bubble on your first day of the week in school which activity you should choose to work on at school this week.  They may help you to adapt the task slightly so that it can be completed in school.**

Science: At some point this week we would like you to make your invertebrate home.  Please see Google Classroom for instructions.
